Behind The Scenes | Trey . . .

Mhm <_< Yesterday when I saw this, I kept pausing to look away. I mean you should've heard me yell at the screen. AAAAHHHH <--straight like that. I couldn't help it. LOL. Each image I've seen this week has thrown me. AND then they had to add a behind the scenes video. All in all, I'm still excited and half-desperate to see the video. I can't wait to scream at my computer the day its officially released.

*Sidenote* WTF kinda exclusive release is this. Whoever works at Atlantic Records are gigantic assholes idiots. We suppose to get this first because we paid for it, but now everyone is getting access. SMDH.

FMI - For My Information

As you can see, that's Trey performing on stage along side of Warren G. Apparently he's singing for Nate Dogg and he's appropriately dressed. What I wanna know is (A.) when the hell is the VH1 Hip Hop Honors coming on. (B.) What happened to my memo? I didn't see any advertisements about it until Trey tweeted that he was backstage. (C.) Why the hell is it pre-recorded? As much bullsh*t they show on Vh1, why can't they let a few curse words slip? Who cares. I just don't understand why it's pre-recorded.

But peeps lemme know so I can be in the know. LOL.

an opinion that will be conversed EXCLUSIVELY to my self, since I no longer have any active participants on my blog. *side eye* Well, I went on Trey's website today to catch up on the news. *mhm, I say to myself* And I seen a post about these pictures below. *Yeah I saw them too, I say* WELL tell me why they, whoever posted that post, linked Sandra Rose's blog (where the pics came from) on there. *Rolls Eyes* So I'm wondering why would they post an obvious Trey hater on a Pro-Trey website. I felt the shade the minute I clicked on the link to get these pictures. UGH That woman makes me sick. So I was just curious if the people over at Treysongz.com knows about the opposition over there at Sandrarose.com. WHO KNOWS. I'm just saying. *Side eye* But anyway, I saved the pictures so you won't have to go over there and feel like you have to cut a bish. LOL.

The question wasn’t if Trey Songz would strip down Tuesday night at the Highline Ballroom, but when. From the moment he took the stage — in a grayish tuxedo jacket, black shirt and black pants — the cover image from his third album, “Ready” (Atlantic), loomed over him on an oversize screen. In that stark black-and-white picture he’s shirtless, with six lines of prose tattooed in cursive on the left side of his chest and a six-pack of abdominals just below.

“We want Trey! We want Trey!” chanted the women — there were three of them in high heels for every young man in a collared shirt — in the mainly black crowd. Normally those are good odds for the boys, but Trey Songz transfixes like no other R&B singer of the day: more assured than Chris Brown, more relatable than Usher. By the time he took the stage, plenty of those women had kicked off the punishing heels they were wearing, all the better to pogo up and down for him.

But does being pretty suffice? “Ready” is one of the year’s most promising R&B albums, and a curious one at that. Given the choice between artful indirection and direct talk, Trey Songz will choose the literal every time. The first three songs on “Ready” are called “Panty Droppa,” “Neighbors Know My Name” (from all the screaming, that is) and “I Invented Sex.” The results are bawdy but never lecherous; sometimes all his enthusiastic bedroom talk has an air of childlike goofiness to it, as if he were thrilled to get away with boasting so freely.

On Tuesday, during a convincing but almost too-smooth performance, Trey Songz sang material from “Ready” almost exclusively. “LOL :-),” an ode to the erotic potential of mobile communication technology, was loopy and lighthearted. “Successful,” his duet with his friend the rising rapper Drake had more bite than the recorded version.

Other songs were notable by their absence. He skipped the sinuous 2007 “Can’t Help but Wait,” his biggest hit and by far his finest song. And there was no “D.O.A. Kellz,” his reimagining of Jay-Z’s “D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune)” as an assault on R. Kelly’s streetwise-R&B crown. (Instead there was “Say Aah,” the most Kellyesque song from the new album. It sounds like a job application.)

That act of attempted patricide reflected Trey Songz’s growing stature, but also his hubris. He’s dapper, charming and utterly confident: almost enough to balance out a voice that’s limber but not particularly deep. Onstage he behaved like someone trying on stardom and hoping everyone thinks it fits, never once letting down his guard.

When he finally did peel off his shirt, just before his last song — the Prince-like “Yo Side of the Bed” — it was less titillation than self-fulfilling prophecy, not that it mattered to those vibrating madly in the audience.

“If I give this to you, baby,” he said, addressing no one in particular, “you’ve got to sleep with me every night.” Then he surveyed the crowd, looked several women in the eye and tossed the shirt casually into the scrum. The ensuing warfare, at least, was beyond question.

THE VERDICT: Pretty good, but I'm biased. Well . . . not really, because I love Drake, but hated his Best I Ever Had video because it was pure garbage. And I think I liked most of Trey's videos thus far. I might not like something about it, but it ends up okay in my book. So I like this video. A pretty dark look for Trey. Maybe they could've approached the video in the sense of how the song is told, not what Drake says but the chorus. And maybe show the affects of that life that maybe thats not what you will get in the end, but look at it as a want or what other ppl expect you to want when you hit that status. A lil story in this video would've been nice, but I also like it the way it is. Simple. Gotta appreciate the simple.



THE VERDICT :: UH ... I love them both dearly but they should've left the autotune alone. Po lil tink tinks. I mean its nice to see them actually doing something after their ordeal, but I don't know if using autotune is a good look. Use ya voice boos COME ON! But again, this video is aight. I do actually like the song tho, but autotunes....geesh. I'm just happy to see them again.

REVIEW | My Thoughts On Ready

It's been a long time coming, but its finally here, the release of Ready. As a long time fan, I've watched Trey grow into the artist that he is today. Sure he has a ways to go, which he admitted himself, but either way I am very proud of him. I never been so supportive of a artist until Trey was introduced to my musical life. He's probably the only artist I know who is 100% committed to his fans. He shows us so much love, which is why we are the real supporters that we are. He really deserves the great remarks he has been getting about his latest effort Ready.

I love this album, there is not one song I want to skip, not even LOL :). It's a great marketing ploy I must admit. This album has every element to make it a completed album. Everyone can find a favorite song off of this album. Mine at the moment is "Does He Do It." Why? It's the feel of it, not what he says. I LOOOOOVE the beginning of it, btw. I don't know what he says, but I love the way he says it. That's what hooked me. Eventually I'll find a new song, but right now I'm 100% committed to that song. You gotta understand my process of loving songs. It's immediate. And it usually is based on how I feel at the moment. And not to mention the beat. It has to be striking the minute I press play. "Does He Do It" had that, also "Lost Love," which might become my second absolute favorite. Both of those songs almost had me about to burst into song on the bus today. LOL.

Moving on . . .

Its interesting to hear indifferent thoughts about Ready. The objection. The picky-ness. The disinterest in Trey's personality letting that be the judge of his music. I done seen it all. And I often feel offended to an extent because of my dedication to Trey. Being the fans we are, we've been waiting for this album to put Trey on the map, but now more than ever we are faced with more and more nay sayers. I guess that comes with the territory. Oh well. At least we know he's doing something if there is a lot of people talking about him. Good or bad.

Overall I am proud of Trey and everyone involved in the project: Troy Taylor, John "SK" McGee, Redd Stylez, Young Yonny, E. Miles, and Iron Chef Tone to name a few. (Only because I know them the most and talked to each with the exception of Chef.) This album is something no one should sleep on. It's Trey's time now. As he said this is the beginning of his journey.


Had to show my support. YUUUP! Finally got my ish! Yall know I was tripping. Stalking my door. Being punked by both the UPS and FedEx guys on a daily basis. Feeling slightly jealous because my fellow Treymates already had the album way before I did. Mad at the fact that I had to listen to it on myspace, which meant logging in and putting up with the foolishness. All for Trey and no one else.

YUHSSS! I went crazy LOL. But I'm now happy that I have Ready. No more mental threats being sent to my mail carrier. I LOVES U MAIL CARRIER! MUAH! LOL

Why is Trey Songz "Wonder Woman" so hard to find on the net? And why is iTunes being an idiot for not having that video up. I requested it 349493036443 times already. They never listen. And I was beginning to think that this has become some sorta underground video. Geesh. I had downloaded it from somewhere, but the quality was sh*t so I deleted it. I had no other choice, but to just wait until it became available to me. Did yall also know that Yahoo! doesn't have the video either! SMH. This is ridiculous. I demand some type of action.
