New Music | Chris Brown ......... Rihanna

Sing Like Me

I have a theory that this is the PERFECT formula for Chris Brown to take to step away from the drama. There are no dark undertones. He doesn't talk about murder, guns, depression, revenge, whateva the case may be, you do not hear that in his music. And I, for one, appreciate that. Its about making the right kind of music instead of putting any ol' damn thing out into the world expecting everyone to accept it. I refuse to listen to sh*t music. This on the other hand is great. Its a good way to get people back into his corner. Good Job CB, I SEE you boo!

Cold Case Love

So maybe I should retract my statement about the sh*t music. I do like this song. I'm not as biased as some would think. But I'm a little discouraged. I know the girl is going through something, but do the writers have to make the sh*t so obvious. Is her whole album gonna sound like this? Please tell me that it's not. What happened to the uplifting? I want some of that. Or what about dance music? I like that too. Hell, does she have to sound like she been murdered or want to murder in every song? I'll pass. But I will say the main reason why I like this song because it gives me inspiration for my Sidney series. That's what I weigh my music taste on. Does it inspire me negatively or positively. And this is negative, so guess what the them of one of the stories will be? YES NEGATIVE! So I hope on her new album she'll give me some variety.

p.s. I heard her album leaked. Well guess who just saved herself 10 dollas?! POW!

♫ "Girl Forget About Him"

I don't know if you guys know who One Chance is. They came out with one video, and disappeared into the shadows. The song was call "Look At Her" feat. Fabo from that group D4L a while ago. In that case yall should definitely know them because Trey, Lloyd and Bobby V. was on the remix of "Look At Her."

But getting back to the point. One Chance (Usher's group) has a song out, newly leaked. Sometimes I'm against leaks, but I am not complaining right now. I love this song. I hope they have a good album to go with it. They just need the right song and promotion. Usher better get on his s**t.

iPod Overload

Here are a few of some new songs I like and made room for on my iPod. Yall know I'm only working with 8 gbs, but I have 9.74 gbs (1769 songs). So I had to uncheck a few artist. Artist such as Aaliyah, Amerie, Alicia Keys. You see where I'm going at with this. I'm unchecking in alphabetical order. Sucks to be me. I really want all these songs on my iPod. I just have no room for them. And I definitely don't want to delete anything because you never know what you're in the mood to listen to at any given moment. Once I delete a song, then its gone forever. I forget about them until someone mentions it years later. And I'll be like "oh em gee, I so totally had that on my iPod. I don't know what happened to it. I loved that song." I say it all the time. SMH.

But anyway ... back to the music...

Fabolous - Stay (feat. Marsha Ambrosius)

Why do I love it? The minute Marsha starts singing, I'm hooked. She has the best voice for this song. The passion in her voice. I felt whatever she was saying even though I'm not going through anything related to the subject matter.

Melanie Fiona - Magic

Why do I love it? The mixture of her voice and the beat. And basically it just sounds great to me.

Lloyd - Want To

What I love it? Maybe because I've been waiting on a new song from Lloyd since forever.

Sean Paul - Double Safety Lately

Why I love it? Its a insider, but it comes right after Trey Songz - Best I Ever Had and it follows the beat rather smoothly. And I'm fascinated by it because I didn't line those two songs behind each other on purpose. It just happened. And I love it.

Surprise, Surprise

I have never been a big fan of female hip-hop. Nothing about it excites me enough to go out and cop and album. Maybe its good enough to download or borrow from somebody else, but none of it drew me out to the stores and made me swipe the card. Maybe it's just me.

It's not that I am against female rappers. Don't get me wrong. I will listen to Eve and Lil' Kim on any given day. I have a few of their songs on my iPod. (Eve 5, Kim 3) But other than that . . . I'm just not with it. I have to hear about some music from somebody else in order for me to listen to it. I have to be thoroughly convinced, you know?

So last night I was on twitter and Nicole Bitchie tweeted something about this rapper named Nicki Minaj. She released a mixtape recently called "Beem Me Up Scotty." I was skeptical at first, but I was a little interested because of the name. I heard that she is like a version of Lil' Kim. I'll leave yall to be the judge of that. A few links of her songs were posted. I wanted to see what the hype was all about besides her being on Young Money records.

The Verdict: I loved it. I didn't think I would. I'll give her her props. If the mixtape sound like the four songs I heard, then I think it's hot. I probably wont go out and hunt for the mixtape, but I still want to hear the rest.

The moral to this story.

Don't knock anything until you listen to it. You might like it and never know because you didn't give it a chance. That's what I tell everybody. Don't give up on it. Just give it a chance.

Hot Tracks:

Nicki Minaj - I Get Crazy
Nicki Minaj - Handstand
Nicki Minaj - Slumber Party
Nicki Minaj - Go Hard
